A Siemens Workers' Camp was established 1942 in Ravensbrück in the North of Mark Brandenburg. Workers for Siemens and Halske were housed in the camp. The Siemens Wernerwerk for telephones (Military use) in Metz had to be evacuated in 1944 due to the pending advance of the Allied Troups. 284 Forced Laborers were transferrd from Metz to the Ravensbrück Camp. | Envelope from Belgium to a Siemens Work Camp in Berlin-Lichtenberg
|
The Work Camp at Landsberger Chausee 31-31 B was operated by the DAF, Deutsche Arbeitsfront formed May 1933 after the dissolution of the Unions, for workers from Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Ukraine for Siemens-Plania. The Camp consisted of 16 baracks for 550 worker inmates. The Camp was heavily damaged during an Allied Air Atack on 26.5.1944. The address is called Landsberger Allee to-day. |
